In a Different Light
“in a different light” is a project designed to offer views of landscapes throughout the seasons, curated to highlight particular aspects. It consists of hand-carved eyeglass frames with a series of interchangeable lenses labeled as appropriate for viewing in each of the four seasons (or the 72 of the Chinese almanac).
Each boxed set is prepared for and associated with a particular landscape, whether it be Sonoma coast, Sonoma Valley, or Long Island Sound. The filters are prototyped using theatrical gel samples, which are then replicated in glass sheets by stage supply manufacturers.
