CelloHouse
The CelloHouse project is an exploration of dynamic indoor architectural spaces, using the sound of the cello to define and reflect the visual experiences. Audiences follow me as I move from room to room, creating layers of musical interpretation which affect the perception of space. It is an artwork built from the Classical concept of the castle of memory: each virtual room in one's mind contains a token to be remembered; the individual, attempting to recall stored events, perambulates virtually through the imaginary castle, opening each door to retrieve the memory stored therein. I literally embody this experience with the cello, using each space to trigger a musical texture that I placed there during development of the composition.
CelloHouse was originally developed for the 58-room Old School in Slavonice, Czech Republic, home of the Centre for the Future, and a new version is presented there every year.

Všechny místnosti i zahrady objektu budou zahalené do multikanálového zvukového prostředí, pomocí něhož budou umělci zkoumat nejrůznější aspekty zvuku violoncella. V závěrečném, celodenním představení budou hudebníci proplouvat místnostmi, někdy ve skupinách, jindy sólo, a posluchači budou moci jen naslouchat a vnímat akustické odlišnosti jednotlivých prostor.
